Amanda is licensed as a mental health counselor (LMHC) with specific training and experience with perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMADs). She began working in the mental health field in 2005, after completing a master’s degree in psychological counseling from Monmouth University (West Long Branch, NJ). From 2009 until 2011, Amanda took some time away from clinical practice as a counselor to re-enter graduate school and work toward a PhD in Human Development and Family Studies at Iowa State University (Ames, IA). Her doctoral studies and post-graduate work focus on childbirth, child development, parenting and the intersectionality of these three. Amanda is also a birth doula and childbirth educator with more than a decade of experience. She has also worked with several national and international birth and human rights advocacy organization promoting improvement to our maternity care systems.
Amanda’s services are open to the public. She holds office hours at Healing Passages Birth & Wellness Center biweekly on Saturday mornings by appointment. Amanda is in-network with Wellmark (Blue Cross Blue Shield), United Healthcare, Amerihealth (a Medicaid provider), and accepts private pay.
