Labor & Birth Nurse

Jolee Williams, Labor & Birth Nurse with Healing Passages Birth CenterI am so excited to be part of Willowsong alongside this wonderful and empowering group of women and the families they serve.

My journey into the healthcare world began when I was a CNA in high school. In 2010 I graduated with my registered nurse license from Mercy College of Health Sciences. Through the last three years I have worked in long term care, the clinic setting, medical-surgical, and for the last 2 years I have worked in labor/delivery/recovery/postpartum (LDRP). Caring for women in all phases of their pregnancy, birth, and postpartum is what I enjoy most. As a young girl I very much enjoyed holding, playing, and feeding babies. I looked forward to the day that I would have my own children to hold and adore. I currently do not have any children of my own but I meet those “baby fever” moments by working in this field!

The year of 2013 has been a big year for me! I graduated with my bachelors of science in nursing (BSN) from Chamberlain College in March. I then became engaged in April and we just married this past September! We currently live in Ankeny but look forward to our future purchase of a home and starting a family. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with family and friends, riding my mule, playing with the dogs and cats at my parents’ home, crocheting, shopping for antiques, and gardening.

I look forward to learning more about this seemingly “other” world of healthcare: A world of positive experiences where patients can feel comfortable with the choices they make and feel empowered because they were provided the knowledge to make the best decision for their family. I realize this is not a new thing, but the beginning of many changes to come in the healthcare world. I am so excited to be a part of these changes that will continue to impact society in important and positive ways.
